FX TD / ARTIST
JONNY WANG
Since 2011, I've dedicated over 13 years to the FX department, specializing in look development using Houdini. My expertise lies in crafting captivating visuals by leveraging procedural techniques, adeptly pitching abstract effects while maintaining a keen eye for natural dynamics and intricate details. Among my career highlights, spearheading the development of obscurus in Fantastic Beasts stands out as a personal favorite. This project seamlessly blended abstract aesthetics with realistic physics, showcasing the breadth of my creative abilities.
Proficient in computer languages such as Python and VEX, I excel in swiftly developing custom tools to streamline workflows across departments. Crafting efficient pipeline solutions tailored to our specific needs is second nature to me.
During my tenure at DNeg for Dune Part 2 in 2023, I assumed a leadership role within the team responsible for the captivating Paul riding worm sequence. This experience not only expanded my technical prowess but also honed my leadership skills.
Empowered by this growth, I have recently joined Disney Vancouver as a key member of the development team for an exciting upcoming show slated for release in 2025. This opportunity demands a higher level of collaboration and discourse, pushing me to explore new horizons in my professional journey.
